More than halfway through our August #Whole30 🎉 Eric got off early last night & we’ve been missing date nights (plus neither of us wanted to cook...) so we checked out a gourmet salad place in Cary. Perfect solution! I must add it’s right by @traderjoes, yes please! I usually like to treat myself when I go out to eat - maybe a burger & fries, definitely dessert. This Whole30 is reminding me that I can still eat right & fuel my body while being out. You don’t have to sacrifice your nutrition for social events. And you don’t have to sacrifice fun in life for eating right. You can do both if you’re intentional. But if you really want that treat, go for it! You know your needs & body best 😘

Banana mug cake 🍌 Who doesn’t like cake for breaky? I posted step by step instructions for this on my story! I kind of guessed as I went along but it turned out perfect it is so yummy 👌🏻 recipe: mash one banana ~ 2 tbsp coconut flour ~ 2 tbsp almond milk ~ 1 egg ~ dash of cinnamon ~ 1/4 tsp baking powder ~ microwave for 2.5-3 mins ~ topped with strawberries, bluebs, hemp hearts, cacao coconut strips and almond butter 😍 Coconut flour is lower in carbs but full of fiber so you’ll be feeling full for hours :) This bowl is gf, df, low sugar and vegan. Leftover veggies are awesome in omelettes! Loving broccoli and low-fat cheese in this one. Spray a hot pan with coconut oil...scramble one egg, 2 egg whites. Drop leftover broccoli in hot pan, cover with scrambled egg, 1/4 cup of any low-fat cheese you like. Cover for approx 2 min. or until set. Slide out of pan! Enjoy with a fresh side salad for breakfast, lunch OR dinner!
