Imagine if the next time you bumped into your best friend, you opened with “WOW, you look really fat today” • We sureAF wouldn’t say that to another person, so why do we do this to ourselves? We try on an outfit & pick apart our body, we put on a swimsuit & it’s accompanied with sighs & pinching our skin. We see an attractive person & instantly compare or question why don’t look like them or have their (insert the blank) • Reversely, imagine how you’d feel about yourself if every time you looked in the mirror, you complimented your appearance or said something nice about yourself? If you cracked a huge smile & said “Dang, you look great today” • Have you ever heard of “Whatever you focus on becomes reality?” It’s often explained with a car. If we want to buy a car, we instantly start seeing that car everywhere we look. Our self image & appearance are not much different. If you chronically tear apart your appearance & voice daily that you’re “big, fat, ugly, (insert the blank) - Well yes, that will quite literally become you and all you see • Self confidence and self love are not taught. How do we change this dialogue? First step to solving a problem is admitting you have a problem. Candidly, you will probably feel a little dumb or super corny venturing into changing your own dialogue. That’s okay, do it anyway. • If you feel a certain way about your body, dive into it. Hate your legs? Your arms? Your stomach? Did someone make a comment about them at some time that elicited that self-hatred? Or was it self-inflicted via the comparison game? Too much time scrolling IG highlight reels? Too many photoshopped magazine or tv shows full of cosmetically-enhanced people? • I challenge you to wake up tomorrow. Spend 5-10 extra minutes getting ready. Don’t normally groom your beard, style your hair, or wear makeup? Do it tomorrow. Selfishly spend a few extra minutes preparing for the day, pick an outfit you feel good in or get a little extra dressed up. Check yourself out in the mirror & give yourself a smile and a nod. Walk with good posture, go out of your way to do nice things like hold a door open or compliment a stranger - & see how your world starts changing ♥️

Love this post by @humanatease ! . . 👉I’m not gonna call out the MANY training methods, fitness groups, and classes which this graphic applies to, but I will say that you can only push your muscles as far as your joints will allow. Most of us will learn this the hard way. . . 👉If you have injured joints, the exercises you do and how intensely you do them will need to be modified so that you can continue to stay fit and make progress without further injury. . . 💪It’s so important, especially when you start training to go slow, learn the foundational movements, and build strength in a strategic and methodical way. If you try to cut the line, you’ll soon find yourself sliding all the way back, and often sidelined for weeks, if not months. Ugh. 😫 . . 💪Injuries are no fun. They happen accidentally sometimes too. But one way to keep yourself out of the orthopedist office is to put your ego on the shelf. Take your time. Pace yourself. Have a methodology that makes sense. Listen to your body. And remember - the turtle always wins.

Irgendwie haben wir doch eine Hassliebe mit der Waage ❤️💔. .⠀ Wenn das Gewicht nach unten geht, bist du der glücklichste Mensch der Welt. In der Sekunde, in der dein Gewicht hochgeht, verfluchst du alles und jeden und denkst dass all deine harte Arbeit umsonst ist 😫 . Hier ist der Deal. Es gibt eine Vielzahl von Gründen, warum dein Körpergewicht an einem einzigen Tag um 1-2 Kilo schwanken kann ... . Vielleicht hast du später gegessen als sonst? ⏰ . Vielleicht hast du mehr Salz gegessen und du hast etwas mehr Wasser gespeichert? 💦 . Vielleicht bist du auch einfach noch nicht auf der Toilette gewesen? 💩 . Ernsthaft, es gibt HUNDERTE von Dingen, die zu einem höheren Wert beim täglichen Wiegen führen könnten ... . Aber eine Sache, die ich dir versprechen kann, ist, dass es kein Fettgewinn ist . Denk einfach mal darüber nach ... . Wenn Du an einem Tag 1-2 Kilo Fett zunehmen oder abnhemen könntest, könntest Du theoretisch in einem Monat bis zu 30 Kilo verlieren 🗓! . Das funktioniert natürlich so nicht. Fett zu verlieren braucht Zeit ... viel Zeit. . Veränderungen beim Körperfett passieren nicht Tag für Tag. . ALSO WAS NUN ✅: Gelegentlich wird dein Gewicht schwanken. Manchmal um 1-2 Kilo ... das ist in Ordnung und total normal 👌 . 99,99% dieses Gewichts stammen von Wasser, Nahrung, Körper, etc ... NICHT Körperfett. . Entspann dich, vertraue deinem Plan und konzentrier dich weiterhin auf die Dinge, die du kontrollieren kannst - Deine Kontinuität und Anstrengung - und dein Gewicht wird im Laufe der Zeit sinken👍🙌💥

The truth about how long results take (via @CarterGood): ⠀ 90-Day Challenge Bullshit 💩 ⠀ ——— ⠀ Let’s talk about 90-day challenges, and how 90% of them are total bullshit. ⠀ Now, the problem isn’t the programs themselves. ⠀ There are plenty of 90-day challenges that provide value, education, and can get you fantabulous results. ⠀ In fact, I sell my own diet & exercise plan that’s *technically* a “90-day course” ⠀ My beef's now with the product — it’s the marketing & unrealistic claims behind them. ⠀ See, many on ‘em prey on desperate dieters and say things like: ⠀ —> “Get six-pack abs in just 90 days!” —> “Shred all your body fat in 12 weeks… just in time for summer!” ⠀ Sounds enticing, right? ⠀ And depending on your current state, those claims might be true. If you’re already lean, or just have 10-15 pounds of fat to lose, 90 days can be a realistic amount of time to see results. ⠀ But(t🍑) if you’re hoping to lose 40+ pounds, or go from fat to shredded in a mere 12 weeks, you’re only setting yourself up for failure… ⠀ Truth is, transforming your body takes a LONG ass time. And remember that results are meaningless unless you build habits, routines, and a lifestyle around maintaining ‘em. ⠀ When people ask me “how long do you think it’ll take me to achieve my goals?” ⠀ I usually say, “AT LEAST one year... maybe two.” Regardless of their starting point. ⠀ Reason being, whether you have 10 or 100 pounds to lose, changing deeply-rooted bad habits and negative self-talk is going to take more than 90 days. ⠀ Here’s the good news ✅: ⠀ You may not go from 30% + body fat to absolutely shredded in 90 days… but you can make some awesome progress! ⠀ Just be smart about it… ⠀ If you find a 90-day challenge that talks about temporarily eliminating certain foods or strenuously working out 2+ hours a day, 7 days per week…. ⠀ You’ll either set yourself up for struggle 90 days from now or possibly fail 30-40 days in. ⠀ This is a life journey… not a “90-day fix” ⠀ There’s nothing wrong with pushing yourself and being motivated by physical results. ⠀ Just don’t let that motivation blind you from what really matters — which is making this whole health & fitness thing enjoyable.
