One of my favorite exercises for Lats is definitely the dumbbell row. A lot of people just try to row as much weight as possible with awful form, but if you follow the right mental cues to control the weight, you’ll get so much more out of the exercise. I always have specific way I set myself up ( it can be different for anyone) but it’s most important that you have a neutral back with your non working shoulder supported. Also, I use a monkey grip when I’m rowing to decrease bicep activation and to add to that, thinking about pulling with your elbows helps decrease bicep involvement too. You want to focus on feeling your lat contract at the peak of each rep, while controlling it on the way down. We talk about this idea of accelerating athletes out of the gym. Anyone can come in and work hard for work’s sake and leave tired. We’re interested in preparing athletes for the task at hand and supporting sport performance. That doesn’t mean there won’t be crushing days, but our ultimate aim is to apply optimal training stimulus directed toward reaching our ultimate goal. Here's part 2 of my #transformationtuesday post! To me, I can only see a difference in my upper back and shoulders. However, I'm way stronger overall. I didn't know how to squat, deadlift, bench press, and do tons of other exercises 2 years ago. My goal then was to lose fat, which was destroying my self confidence. My journey has taught me how amazing it feels to be able to gain physical and mental strength. Now my goal is to gain mass and even more strength, so I'm hoping for some good transformation photos in the next couple of months. 💪 If you feel like you can't lose that extra fat on your body and that you're doing everything right, I was there. I’ve lived in Arizona for about 5 months now but haven’t explored or gone to Sedona until now😍 My boyfriend surprised me with a trip out here for a few days and it’s like a world of its own. I’m not much of a hiker but this has been so worth it. The views and sight seeing is unreal, the stars at night don’t even look real and every single drive is amazing ⛰☀️ I love traveling more than just about anything.
