The Porridge Pilferer . . Someone is playing the blame game Shifting gazes from guilty to innocent Oatmeal absent, chairs broken and beds dishevelled A childhood whodunit cleudo bazinga Steady on now, keep calm and follow the breadcrumbs Intrigue piquing their eyes, they follow On a mission impossible to find the culprit Dun dun dun Weaving through the woods They questioned the suspects . . A red hooded rogue seemed suspicious A wolf slinked between shadows The rogue was innocent, with a purity to melt hearts The wolf continued on his way, eyeing his prey They continued along the breadcrumbed path Seeking their chair breaking, bed hopping, porridge theif . . The crumbs (now eaten) lead to a candy cane cottage With candyfloss clouds smoking from a chewy toffee chimney They peeked through chewing gum stretched glass To find an old witch preparing a meal They burst through the white candy stick door But retreat immediately once they realise what was in store . . Onward they traipse through the copse Until they find a flimsy house Painstakingly propped up by a plump pig With knees knocking the pig declares his innocence Calling on his two brothers as alibis Defeated and getting ravenous now the bears begrudgingly continue on . . With a glimpse of sunset hair captured in a wolf's grasp The bears descended, and chased said wolf away With tears in her eyes and thanks on her lips The girl with locks of gold confesses and professes it will never happen again With excuses galore she continues more and more Until the baby bear retreats his lips in a snarl And the girl of golden locks would steal no more

Heartbreak.
